Our Story
2005
Where It All Began
Raised on the Exe Estuary in Devon, UK, I was immersed in sailing from a young age, restoring boats with my mum and racing competitively through my teens. After playing rugby for the Exeter Chiefs and working in real estate in London, I was drawn back to the ocean and took a job on a fishing trawler in Exmouth, Devon. In 2005, driven by a desire to explore the world, I set off for New Zealand. What began as a love for the sea became a full time pursuit of sailing and a career in performance yachts.
2018
Global Experience.
Practical knowledge.
I went on to race offshore Maxis in the Sydney to Hobart, crew superyachts across the Pacific, and captain Gunboats through thousands of ocean miles—both racing and cruising. Working within world-class race teams gave me deep technical exposure to composites, systems, rigging, and project management.
Since 2011, I have been immersed in the performance multihull world, Captaining, managing, and building some of the most advanced yachts afloat.
2020
Move Ashore Into Brokerage
Following the successful representation of the first two Gunboat 68 builds, the manufacturer approached me to establish technical service, brokerage sales, and warranty support from their U.S. office. From 2018 to 2023, I served as Gunboat's New Build Sales and Brokerage Manager, closing over $49M in pre-owned sales and supporting new-build sales exceeding $95M.
While I loved my time with the brand, I was ready for new challenges. After stepping away, I identified a clear gap in the market—between high-volume production boat brokerages prioritizing quick sales over buyer and seller interests, and superyacht firms catering only to the ultra-luxury segment. With a deep-rooted background in performance multihulls and a client-first approach, Rapide Yacht Group was created to fill that gap.

While remaining proudly independent, Rapide has quickly established itself as the trusted brokerage for sellers and buyers globally. We continue to represent and sell Gunboats, Balance Catamarans, Outremer, HH, and a growing number of custom performance builds steadily positioning Rapide as the world’s leading performance yacht brokerage.
Looking ahead, we’re focused on expanding our listings, growing our team, and enhancing our services always with the goal of delivering more value, more expertise, and more time on the water for our clients.

Spike Abram
Founder & Multihull Specialist
Spike Abram is well-established in the high-performance yacht brokerage world, bringing nearly two decades of hands-on experience across racing, superyachts, custom multihull builds, yacht management, and brokerage. As former Global Brokerage and Sales Manager for Gunboat, he led U.S. operations and developed the brokerage division into a leading central agency. Originally from the UK and now based in Newport, Rhode Island, Spike founded Rapide to provide clients with truly independent advice, backed by deep technical expertise and real-world sailing experience. When he's not working with clients or growing the business, you'll find him adventuring with his daughters or enjoying time on the water.
Guy Ogier
Carribbean Multihull Advisor
Guy Ogier is a Caribbean-based yacht advisor with over 20 years of hands-on sailing and multihull expertise. Raised on South Africa’s rugged coast and shaped by ocean crossings, superyachts, and regatta racing, he brings deep knowledge and practical engineering insight to every client interaction. Based in Sint Maarten since 2014 and having cruised extensively aboard his own Leopard catamaran, Guy leads Rapide’s Caribbean brokerage operations. When he’s not sailing, you’ll find him on stage or touring Europe with his band JonnyGuy, blending tropical indie and reggae vibes.
Amanda Kelly
Design & Creative Consultant
Amanda is a graduate of San Diego State University, where she earned her degree in Graphic Design and graduated with a 3.84 GPA in her major. Her time at SDSU honed her technical skills and deepened her passion for creating design that communicates with clarity, originality, and purpose.
She brings a love of bold aesthetics, thoughtful storytelling, and strategic design thinking. With a strong foundation across branding and marketing, we’re thrilled to have Amanda on board. She brings talent, energy, and fresh ideas to the Rapide brand.
Lourdes Diaz
Operations
Lourdes is the backbone of Rapide’s operations, managing the back office with precision and keeping the team connected.
