You may have noticed a difference in Rapide's marketing recently, from an increase in social media activity to growing traffic on our website. Much of that is down to our newest team member, Stephanie Ogier, who now leads the charge on Rapide's marketing and Social Media.
With a background spanning design, professional yachting, and six years as a yacht chef, Stephanie brings a unique perspective to the role, one shaped by creativity, adaptability, and firsthand experience of life at sea.
This is her story.
From sailing dinghies to superyachts, Stephanie's path has always been defined by movement, detail, and creativity in practice.
There’s a natural alignment between life on the water and the world of visual storytelling—both demand awareness, adaptability, and an instinct for detail. For Stephanie, that connection has been shaped through years of hands-on experience, both creatively and at sea.
Originally from the Dutch coast, her introduction to sailing began at fourteen, laying the foundation for a lifelong connection to the water.
I was never the best sailor, but I always loved that moment when the wind filled the sails and everything suddenly felt light and free. It doesn’t matter if you’re on a small dinghy or a big yacht—that feeling is always the same.
Alongside this, an early interest in design led her to pursue a background in Graphic Design and Art & Design in Amsterdam, developing a refined eye for composition, branding, and visual communication.
After completing her studies, Stephanie set out to explore the world. She spent time backpacking through Australia in her early twenties before eventually finding her way to the Caribbean, where she joined a traditional square-rigger in Sint Maarten—an experience that marked the beginning of her professional career in the yachting industry.
It was in the Caribbean that Stephanie met her husband, who played a key role in re-sparking her creative direction. Around this time, she began creating designs for his music project, managing social media, contributing to visual storytelling, and working on music video and animation projects.
While continuing to work in high-performance environments, including as Head Chef on a 70-metre motor yacht, she developed a reputation for precision, adaptability, and consistently delivering at a high level. Managing demanding guest expectations, complex logistics, and fast-paced galley operations required not only technical skill, but resilience and composure under pressure.
Cheffing taught me to trust my intuition, stay adaptable, and figure things out under pressure. I’ve always been quite organised and detail-oriented, and that really works in this industry.
Throughout this time, her creative background remained a constant thread, making sure to maintain her creative expression through illustrated commission work and graphic design.
Today, Stephanie brings this unique combination of disciplines into her work as a Marketing & Creative Consultant. With a deep understanding of the yachting industry, her approach is grounded in authenticity, creating content and campaigns that reflect both the reality and the aspiration of life on the water.
The result is a perspective that goes beyond surface-level marketing, where the strongest stories are found not just in the yachts themselves, but in the people and journeys behind them.
