The $11 Million Refit That Changed Everything, 2019–2021

The best place to start is 2018, when I acted as broker for both buyer and seller.
The current owner stepped aboard a platform that had been left in a condition that was difficult to sell.

“What followed over the next three years was a complete rebirth, driven entirely by the
owner's vision and investment.”

I remember standing in the saloon with the buyer (current owner) and manager (Jon Barrat), bouncing around ideas for how to transform and improve the platform. What followed over the next three years was a complete rebirth, driven entirely by the owner's vision and investment.

The boat was towed from Fairhaven to Newport Shipyard, where a world-class team of project managers, naval architects, interior designers, and specialist subcontractors was assembled.

“The transformation was extraordinary.”

Re-engineering the Saloon

The saloon was completely redesigned and re-engineered. Four roof-supporting posts that made the space feel fragmented and lacked flow were removed and replaced by a massive carbon beam running the width of the saloon.

This remarkable engineering and building achievement fundamentally changed the feel of the interior.

The centerpiece is a bespoke round dining table, surrounded by custom cabinetry and sumptuous Italian upholstery.

A Dedicated Galley and Crew Area

The original starboard galley was relocated to a dedicated galley and crew area within the starboard hull.

This major structural and composite undertaking required opening up and rebuilding large sections of the hull. The result is a private, fully equipped crew area that enables owner and guest privacy, superyacht-level service, and crew longevity.

Modern Systems and Energy Architecture

“7,700 watts of solar across 53 panels, paired with a high-capacity battery bank, dramatically reduces generator hours and allows the boat to remain quiet at anchor.”

The energy architecture is particularly impressive: 7,700 watts of solar across 53 panels, paired with a high-capacity battery bank, dramatically reduces generator hours and allows the boat to remain quiet at anchor. The main engines remain low-hours relative to her mileage, highlighting how much this platform loves to sail.

Every system aboard was replaced or upgraded. Virtually every piece of machinery, appliance, electronics, wiring, and piping was replaced. Osprey and Roald, two leading superyacht systems specialists, brought Tiger Lily Too's house systems fully in line with today's finest superyachts, backed by comprehensive as-installed documentation.

Exterior Styling and Sailing Systems

The exterior styling, coachroof, and boarding from the tender and dock were also refined and restyled.

All sailing systems were upgraded and redesigned, including mast components, sail package, standing rigging, and running rigging, with the sail wardrobe updated again in 2025.

The daggerboards were replaced, along with new titanium rudder bearings, and PTO-driven bow thrusters allow docking in the most challenging conditions.

Following her $11,000,000 refit, it is clear when stepping aboard today why this platform is considered the finest performance cruising catamaran currently sailing.

With continual investment, she continues to turn heads wherever she goes.

The only Gunboat 90 ever produced, the Queen of all performance multihulls.
