A turnkey, performance bluewater machine

Balance 526 Ondine Blue

Ondine Blue is a stunning Balance 526, commissioned by a discerning first owner who spared no expense during the build. Every option was carefully selected and upgraded, resulting in a performance cruising catamaran that is both exceptionally capable and beautifully specified. Under its current ownership, Ondine Blue has been meticulously maintained and cared for. With low engine hours and excellent condition for her age, she represents a rare opportunity in today’s market.

The topsides are finished in a stunning pearlescent blue that glistens in the sun and turns heads in any anchorage. Inside, the transition from the aft cockpit to the saloon is seamless, with recently refinished whitewashed oak veneers and contrasting dark wood flooring that create a clean, modern interior with a light and airy feel. Whether you're planning to cruise the Mediterranean or sail further afield, Ondine Blue is a true gem, a turnkey, performance bluewater machine that's beautifully presented and attractively priced.

What our clients say

Reviews

“Spike is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to high performance multihulls like my Gunboat 48. ”

Over the years, he’s supported me with resources, connections, and advice, it’s been invaluable.

John John Florence

3X World Champion Surfer, Olympian, Founder of Florence Marine X

“As a seller of a higher end performance catamaran, Rapide proved to be the ideal choice for me, for 3 main reasons. Spike brought to bear a really effective combination of in-depth product expertise, sound advice on pricing and position, and solid buyers well matched to the boat.”

High performance, blue water, catamarans are a very niche market. Spike’s years of experience in this field really set him apart from other brokers that don’t specialize in this area. For this reason he provides better feedback on positioning and pricing and most importantly finding qualified buyers that understand and appreciate and are willing to pay for the special capabilities of high performance catamarans.

Rich Schneider

Seller Balance 526 Blue Diamond

“Thank you for offering an alternative to all the shit brokers out there! We feel fortunate to be working with you.”

We came to Rapide looking for a safe, well-performing catamaran that could take our family around the world. As passionate sailors with a clear vision—and after a frustrating experience with another broker—we knew we needed someone transparent, knowledgeable, and truly on our side. Spike listened. He understood what we were after. It’s rare to find a broker who genuinely gets it, and even rarer to find one who truly cares. That’s why we’re so glad we found Rapide. Thank you.

Courtney and Mike

Spike’s Rapide Yacht Group had it all together… from the very first contact he gave me solid advise and handled a complex transaction expertly at every hurdle and step. Engaged and responsive at all times, even after the close, I couldn’t be happier.

“Trustworthy, hardworking, and most friendly. What started in a search for a Gunboat, ended in a long-lasting friendship and relationship with the guy who sold it to us.”

It has been the longest time since my dad dreamed of owning a Gunboat. With the long dream came the longest road. There has been so much consideration, so much decision making and so many emotions involved in this process. It has truly been overwhelming and yet so fulfilling. With all honesty, if it wasn’t for Spike we would not be here and proud Gunboat owners. Every text message, every phone call, every trip to see a boat, every decision and indecisiveness we had -Spike was there, answering honestly with our best interest at heart.

“Spike Abram is one of the rare professionals in the multihull space who combines deep technical knowledge with real diplomacy”

Identifying and hiring a knowledgeable owner’s representative to protect a client’s investment during construction is essential. A strong project manager must balance technical expertise with clear, tactful communication. Spike is one of the few professionals in the performance multihull segment who brings both—and does so with integrity.

FAQs

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE RAPIDE YACHT GROUP?

Rapide is an independent brokerage with a client-first approach. We put your needs before our own, offering honest, unbiased advice and full access to the global market. Our deep technical expertise and hands-on experience allow us to guide you through every step of the process with clarity and precision. It all begins with a personal consultation to understand your goals, followed by a curated selection of yachts that match your specific program. From negotiation to inspection, contracts to delivery, we’re with you all the way.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS IN BUYING A YACHT?

It all starts with a conversation, so the first step is to pick up the phone and speak with one of our experts. We’ll help you set your budget and define your key requirements, such as size, performance, preferred cruising grounds, and any designers or builders you admire. Your Rapide broker will then curate a shortlist of the best yachts available both on and off the market that align with your goals. We’ll also provide detailed comparisons between brands and insights into individual yachts’ ownership profiles, helping you identify real value. It’s all in the details. From there, we’ll arrange viewings so you can step aboard your top choices and narrow down the right fit. When you’re ready to proceed, we’ll assist with negotiations and contract preparation. Once terms are agreed, sea trials and surveys are scheduled and completed to ensure the yacht meets expectations. From there, we move to acceptance, and you’ll receive expert advice on flagging and insurance while the Rapide team advises during final documentation and the closing process. At that point, the yacht is yours and it’s time to enjoy your new adventure.

HOW LONG DOES A PRE-OWNED PURCHASE TAKE?

The timeline for purchasing a pre-owned yacht typically ranges from 4 to 8 weeks from offer to closing, but this can vary depending on several factors. These include the complexity of due diligence, survey results, financing, the seller’s timeline, and the buyer’s chosen flag state. International transactions involving foreign flags can offer advantages through entities registered in jurisdictions with favorable legal and tax environments. They may also broaden your insurance options by providing access to global markets and underwriters. However, they often require additional steps, which can extend the process by a couple of weeks. If you’re working to a specific deadline, let your Rapide broker know early, and we’ll tailor the process to align with your timeline and navigate any complexities on your behalf.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO SEA TRIAL?

To complete a sea trial, you’ll typically need the following:

  1. An Accepted Offer
Most sellers will only approve a sea trial after a written offer is accepted and a deposit is placed in escrow. The offer will include a contingency for the sea trial and survey.

  2. Signed Purchase Agreement
A binding agreement outlining the terms, timelines, and contingencies, protecting both buyer and seller throughout the process.

  3. Deposit in Escrow
A standard 10% deposit is held in ESCROW during the trial and survey period. It remains fully refundable if you reject the vessel in writing before the acceptance deadline.
